Born in 1970, Tobias Horn belongs to the leading German organisTobias Horn 7 augustusts of his generation, having won several renowned international competitions. At the 2000 L' Europe et l' Orgue in Maastricht/Liège/Aachen, he received the 1st prize for interpretation and the special prize for the best Bach interpretation. The jury members were Hakim, Trotter, Szathmary, Fonteyn, Wolfs and Haselböck. At the 2000 Concours International Suisse de l' Orgue, he received the 2nd prize (a 1st was not awarded). The jury members included Laukvik, Bovet, Ablitzer and Heiniger. Receiving these honors led to an intensive concert career.he artist regularly performs at well-known international festivals for organ, among them Nuremberg, Maastricht, Genova, Bergen and Festival Suisse de l'Orgue. In addition he has performed on many of the great European organs, among them Laurenskerk Rotterdam, plus the Cathedrals in Strasbourg, Vienna, Aachen, Antwerpen, Haarlem, St. Gallen and Bergen.

Tobias studied organ with Ludger Lohmann and harpsichord with Jon Laukvik. Specializing in French Baroque and Romantic Organ Music, he worked intensively with Jean Boyer in Lyon/Lille and Ben van Oosten in The Hague/Rotterdam. Along the way he has acquired extensive knowledge in the field of romantic symphonic organ literature.

His repertoire is broad and contains all of the great organ literature pieces. Besides the complete works of Bach, he regularly performs all of the large works of Reger and Liszt, as well as the complete works of Vierne and Widor, plus many of the compositions of Dupré. Several premieres belong to his repertoire, along with the prominent works of both early music and contemporary literature.

Tobias Horn's compact disc recordings of romantic organ music, primarily focused on Reger and Vierne works, were released on the distinguished labels of Motette-Ursina and Ambiente. All aspects of the productions were very highly acclaimed by the reviewers, Roger Fisher's commentary published in the Organists' Review. Further artistic testimony is given by the numerous radio recordings made at the European broadcast stations of SWR, WDR and ORF.

Besides performing as a concert organist, Tobias Horn is a leading German accompanist and conductor, having practiced and performed nearly all of the great oratorios: St. Matthew's and St. John's Passion, Christmas Oratorio and many cantatas by Bach; Great Mass in c-minor and Requiem by Mozart; The Creation by Haydn; Requiem by Brahms, Verdi, Fauré, Duruflé; Les Béatitudes by Franck; Te Deum by Dvorak and Bruckner; as well as many orchestral works by Bach, Mozart, Poulenc, and Debussy.
